Baby dolls like to cuddle. Mickey? George? Anybody. That’s Josie’s new bed by the way, not terribly exciting as it’s just a mattress on the floor, but we all like it.

Nap time is serious business at our house. 6 out of the 7 beings in the house were sleeping. 4 in this shot sitting right next to me at the computer (kaya is in the top perch). We’ve all been enjoying the beautiful weather and the ability to leave the windows open.

Earlier this month we celebrated my dad’s birthday. We went to my parents house bright and early and brought them Quebrada almond croissants. We made an apple tart which Josie enjoyed cutting and measuring for. My dad has a nifty device to peel, cut, and core apples all at the same time. She used it that day for the first time. Just had to keep her fingers away from the blades.

Every time we go to my parents house Josie feeds the cats wet food. To the point of where Molly starts yelling at us right when we get there. She’s ready for her meal and she expects it to be brought to her on a plate no matter where she is lounging at the time. Josie happily complies. Ginny on the other hand tends to run away from the loud toddler footsteps and often doesn’t eat her food, we give more to Molly who needs it anyway.

Josie is very proud these days of anything she can help with. One of her favorites is helping Jordi make his lunch in the morning for work. She often helps by reminding him of what goes in it (cheese, spinach, etc) and then taking the spinach they put in the sandwich and putting it on the floor or her tower. Mio likes spinach, and so does George. But of course, so does Daddy.

Both Mio and George these days spend a lot of time in the tower until Josie chases them off with a ‘no Mio, no George’. She’s big into scolding the cats, unfortunately she makes up some infractions that aren’t really a problem.

This photo was taken after she was asked to pick up the tool box behind her and she tried and tried before declaring it ‘heby’. She is amazingly determined to pick up heavy things, she even dragged an entire bag of groceries from the front porch to the kitchen for me. I didn’t ask her to, she just did it, she’s quite the helper.

Josie has finally become useful to the cats. She has learned how to feed them their dry food. It’s been working out great in my mind because she’s exceedingly slow at doing it, I can cook all of breakfast while she does it. I do have to tell her when to stop though or else the bowls end up overflowing everywhere! She also learned how to deal with stepping on unpleasant things and how to get those things off your feet which has been a nice skill for her to pick up so I don’t have to help every time.

Josie has been doing some art these days. She likes crayons, although I have to keep them out of her mouth with some quick maneuvers. Someone is really obsessed with the crayons. Two guesses, but it’s the not the one who plays with the crayons in her chair.

We’ve been having fun with stickers too. I fear the markers, we don’t do that yet.

I’ve heard of puppy love, but this? (that is a lion doll by the way)
