I’m seriously silly!

November 14th, 2010 by Jen

Celia likes two poses for her photographs, tongue out, or dead serious.

This one I couldn’t get her to face the light, so it’s dark. Silly non-compliant children.

Hannah next door

November 14th, 2010 by Jen

One of Josie’s favorite things each evening is when our neighbors Patrick or Laura get home and bring their dog Hannah out for a visit. Josie loves to pet her and does not like to give Patrick or Laura much of a chance to change or relax upon arriving home as she demands Hannah. Thankfully they’re very gracious and thoughtful about our toddler’s fascination. Now that’s it’s dark at that time, I imagine we won’t get to see too much of them.

Halloween 2010

November 12th, 2010 by Jen

Last weekend Josie had her first Halloween where I think she actually got the idea. She was scared of the idea ahead of time, she told us she didn’t want to do it. So we say alright and didn’t force it. That morning we had a get together with my friends from my mom’s group at Crosby park to hang out and show off costumes. We did some group shots, but they were all kinda ehhh because of harsh lighting and lots of squirmy kids.

Then in the afternoon we had an event at Waldo Park, our local playground with food and drink and meeting up with the neighbors. It was very well attended, Josie almost walked out the second she saw it the place was so crowded. We got to see our friends and have a hot dog but the night was cold, so it didn’t last too long. We headed out for group trick-or-treating with the neighbors.

The first house Josie was very unsure of what was going on, so we only went to houses where we knew people and let Ethan, the almost 5 year old, go first to show the toddlers how it’s done. After the first house went well, and then the second, Josie was running between them as she had definitely gotten the idea. We had a little trouble getting her to say the ‘trick or treat’ but she was great with the ‘thank yous’. Celia spend the afternoon asleep in the carrier on my chest, which was good, because again, it was dang cold.

So have you guessed her costume? It’s hello kitty! I expect we’ll see a lot of the hat this winter, it’s soft and cuddly.

Oh my gosh what is that thing!

RIP yoga ball #3

November 6th, 2010 by Jen

Somehow Fred and George have a rough relationship with yoga balls and seem to make us go through them at a rather unreasonable rate. The first one deflated when George fell off of the treadmill and onto the ball, claws out. They watched it deflate with amusement. Then we got a new one and one of them just literally walked up to it and stuck a claw into it and watched it deflate again. Ball #3 has been around for a while now, until Josie tried to pull a blanket out from under Fred who then fell over onto the ball next to the couch. Ball #4 is de-smelling in the basement because they sure are handy tools for bouncing the baby and stretching our backs.

Tummy (torture?) time

November 3rd, 2010 by Jen

Josie has been cherishing the few times a day that Celia is awake and not nursing, here she joins in for tummy time and tries to get Celia to play with some toys.

Josie likes to demonstrate how to use the chewing toys to Celia, unfortunately she doesn’t have that hand control yet! But her head control is improving greatly.

Celia’s stats

November 1st, 2010 by Jen

So at two weeks old plus one day, Celia weighed in at 8.5 lbs exactly (up 11 oz from last Wednesday) and 22 inches long. That’s an inch and a half since birth in two weeks! If only I could grow some height like that. No surprise the newborn clothes aren’t fitting anymore along with the smaller 3 month clothes. Onto the 3-6 month clothes we go!

Us girls

October 31st, 2010 by Jen

We had one nice (last) warm day the other day and took some fun photos outside. Couldn’t decide which one I liked better so you get them both. It’ll be nice when Celia can hold her head up for pictures!

Josie singing

October 30th, 2010 by Jen

Here’s another video of Josie singing. She likes to sing a lot in the car and often around the house. She’s a little tone deaf still but it’s nice to hear happy sounds coming from her. Here’s a bit of “I’ve been working on the railroad” and “Polly Wolly Doodle“. Keep an eye out for Fred! I didn’t think Jordi was drunk while filming this, but I’m not sure what else happened 🙂

Pumpkin sumpkin

October 29th, 2010 by Jen

This year Josie was very excited about carving the pumpkin. At least before we started she was. She first wanted a ghost on it, then a cat. So we went with both. I let Jordi get in with the messy work while I held the camera and Celia. Josie also decided the messy pumpkin work wasn’t really for her either. Unfortunately I missed her later refusals on the camera, but they were pretty funny. Here’s a tiny bit of her work scooping out the guts. I had hoped to do some pumpkin painting too, but since it’s already Friday, maybe not.
